Hectares Sweet Potato Crisps and recipe ideas..

Hectares (@hectares_uk on instagram) crisps were set up with a mission to convert 1% of the UK's white crisp eaters to a Hectares sweet potato crisp consumer. Although this sounds crazy, once you try them you will understand how viable this is.

All of the flavours are delicious (with my favourite being lightly sea salted) and taste as they say they should on the packet.

Not only are they delicious, but they are nutritious too. Each pack is:

- Gluten free,

- Naturally high in fibre,

- hand cooked (and picked) in high oleic sunflower oil,

- supporting sustainable agricultural projects.

Sweet potatoes are brilliant to eat because they're full of:

  • Antioxidants - slows ageing and great for all-round health

  • Fibre - lowers cholesterol and heart disease (and keeps you regular)

  • Vitamin A - for healthy eyes and skin

  • Beta-carotene - only found in coloured veg which unlocks Vitamin A

  • Vitamin C - to boost the immune system

AND, because of their unique sweet, caramel flavour they go with almost any food.

Recipe Ideas:

I took my lightly sweet potato crisps and used them as a salad topper...

Seen here with a chargrilled vegetable and halloumi salad.

- I've used them to top sweet potato pancakes (both savoury and sweet options),

- As a chip to my dip in my houmous,

- As a crunchy topping on tacos,

- As nachos with turkey mince,

- As a crunchy topping to savoury muffins,

The possibilities really are endless!

So, basically, go buy these crisps; they're delicious AND good for you!

HANNAH'S COOKING TIPS:

#1

Coconut oil; brilliant for sweet and savoury dishes as well as your skin.

#2

Turmeric powder; brilliant anti-inflammatory properties so great post workout to reduce muscle soreness.

#3

Eggs; such a versatile ingredient and a brilliant snack. Hardboil a few at the start of the week and you're less likely to reach for the sweet jar!
